Poetry at Midnight

IMG_0967

when a world around you sleeps

no songs from birds

no scurrying of chimpmunks and squirrels

cars now parked in their garages and in their spaces

grandmothers, grandfathers and grandchildren asleep

when only the whisper of stars

and cricks of the crickets

adorn the silence of the night

can one really reflect

on the soft tones of peace
