On Break!

On Break

From May to June, I planned and hosted 5 Poets, Writers & Storytellers Online stages! All were successful, though I was Zoom-Bombed on event #2. I recovered and the all-day Norwalk Art Festival & Poetry/Storytellers stage at the end of June was sweet icing on the cake.

In addition to that I performed host duties for great weather for MEDIA ( greatweatherformedia.com ) by twice selecting poem of the week all while preparing 2 epic poems to send to annual contests held
by both Rattle and Narrative.

Needless to say, it is break time. I plan to drive down south tomorrow to see family. I will be out of pocket and a little offline for a bit. I plan to show up again in a couple of weeks for the late summer and early fall of 2020 with new poetry, new online events and much more!

Until then, Take Care & Be Safe!!!

My Travels #3

Back to the ruggedness of road travels. My hotel room in Novosibirsk, Russia (Siberia).

Yeah, been there too . Note the lovely wallpaper! And those curtains!!!

This city was 5 time zones East of Moscow. I was there in 1995 and I didn’t think that the hotel manager received the memo that the wall came down in 1989. As my boss, our translator and I stood before her requesting a discount for our extended stay, She threatened to put our entire team out of the hotel for not being compliant with Soviet era letters of permission to stay there. I whispered in my bosses ear: “Forget the discount. You need to grovel now.”

He did. An official letter of permission was faxed to her a day later.
