I was cleaning up pics from my iPhone and ran across this one from June 2020. I was seated at an outdoor space at my fav Cantina, having lunch and working on a poem from my book: “Poets Should Not Write About Politics” which was accepted by a publisher in February 2021!

With attitude, Chop your Onions
Gently, pull the Kale from stems
Sauté some Garlic with the Onions
Pour a little chicken broth in the Sauté
Add the Kale, pressure cook ten minutes
Pop the top, let it sit a bit, then enjoy!
Sauté:
your chopped onion
your shredded carrots
your sliced mushrooms
your minced garlic
your chopped celery
Add a little sherry
a little pepper
a little paprika
A little chicken broth
Chicken Thighs
Then pressure cook
for just a few minutes
pop the top, add butter
Chicken pot casserole
tastes so good you’ll
want to slap yourself silly

seems there are gods and lords
ruling parts of this world
as the wide gap between
rich and poor widens more
as rifts between classes
rupture open loudly
we stand gazing
with mouths agape
astonished at the stark,
pompous gait of their
brash nakedness

rule large parts this world.
